I enjoy writing – and trying to explain important concepts to students, professionals and interested others. Doing so clarifies my own thoughts. This is presumably why universities evolved the way they did – so that academics participate in both teaching and research.
An Introduction to Psychometrics and Psychological Assessment is my latest (2023) offering – an expanded and updated version of Psychological Testing, which won the British Psychological Society’s textbook award (rather to my surprise). Don’t forget to download the spreadsheets from here as they form an integral part of the book. [There are PowerPoint slides for each chapter, flashcards to aid revision, a glossary, and links to (free) software there as well.]
I am currently writing the 5th edition of Individual Differences and Personality which should be published in 2026 by Routledge/Taylor & Francis. Though a lot depends on the weather – when it is warm and sunny there are better things to do than sit at my desk and write!
Anyway, here are the books, and links to purchase some of them from whichever site is handy for you! There’s also a video interview in which I talk about my thinking behind the fourth edition of Individual Differences & Personality.
